Mr. 'L. AV. Bourke, telegraph superintendent in Christchurch. has been transferred to AVeiT'ngtoii. where he will hold a similar office. Ho will be succeeded at Christchurch by Mr. E. A. Burr, assistant superintendent in Wellington.

Mr. E. A. Shrimpton, chief telegraph engineer, has returned from a business trip to Auckland. A Dunedin Press Association telegram states;—lt is understood that Sir Thomas Mackenzie will shortly return to live in AVellington. One reason he went Home was to arrange to reside in the Dominion, still retaining his seat on the directorate of the National Mortgage Company.

As a mark of appreciation of services rendered to the cause of athletics, picsentations of enlarged photographs of tho New Zealand Olympic Council were made at last night's meeting of that body to Mr. B. A. Guise, the lion, secretary, and Mr. R. AA. Shallcrass, the hon. acting-treasurer. In making tho presentations the chairman of the council, Mr. A. Davies, spoke appreciatively of’the work of both gentlemen, ami mentioned that Mr. Guise had acted in the capacity of secretary for tho past eleven years.
