CARUSO MEMORIAL CONCERT

At the Masonic Hall, Boulcoll. Stre<4. to-morrow afternoon, -the musical artists of Wellington intend io'pay tribute to the memory of that great singer. Enrico Caruso, whose death the whole of file musical world deplores, in this endeavour they are to have the assistance of Mr. Alexander Watson, the noted English elpcutionist, who has consented to recite Tennyson’s “Crossing the Bar.’.’ Signor Lucien Cesaroni will sing "l.’ro I’eceatis,” and Miss Teresa M’Enroe the ‘Tnfliimmatus.” from Rossini’s "Stabat. Maier”; Mr. Herbert F. IVcod will s.r.g

"Shepherd, of Souls,” and Mrs. J. F. Woodward will sing the beautiful "Rosa Resurgot.” The Lyric Quartet will contribute "Tho Singer’s Farewell. and .Miss Gladys Watkins will play Chopin’s "Marche Funebre.” A gramophone record of Caruso in Massenet’s "Elegia (with Mischa Elman playing tie obbligato) will also be heard immediately before the Funeral March is played. An address on Caruso will be read by the chairman (Mr. A. E. Batt), who met. the great singer personally when last in New York. r»I;’. H. Whittle will play the accompaniments.
