NEW TECHNICAL COLLEGE
MONEY COMING IN. Tho unprecedented position in which the board of the Wellington Technical College finds itself owing to the Government not being in the position to advance further moneys for Iho erection of the new college, is appenliaig strongly to a number of public-spiriied citizens, and subscriptions for the continuance of the work are mounting up. In order to keep the work going, the board and City Council are working together to try and raise the money, and so far have been fairly successful. The total given so far amounts to a little over -2900, but as several firms have promised to submit the proposal to contribute to their boards of directors, it is hoped that the amount, mentioned will be more than doubled in the next week. So far the following amounts have been subscribed: — Thomae Ballinger 104 Blundell Bros 100 J. S. Swan 100 W. Grav Young 100 J. H. Howell 100 Murphy Bros 65 Sir Francis Bell 50 A. S. Paterson and Co 50 T. Ballinger and Co 50 C. Smith 50 A. de B. Brandon 25 W, A. Chote 25 W. H. Bennett 25. W. A. J. Dutch 20 Total -£B6O Several small donations hare also been received.
