Mr. Vivian H. R. Deacon, who is a cousin of the late poet Robert Browning, and a son of Dr. Cornelius Deacon, of Croydon, near London, is commencing a scries of lectures in tho Concert Chamber of the Town Hall on Sunday evenings. Mr. Deacon came to New Zealand under special engagement to tho Worcester Street Spiritualists’ Church, Christchurch, as a forerunner to Sil Arthur Conan Doyle. Owing to the sue. cess of his work in New Zealand, Mr Deacon has been persuaded to take up his residence permanently in Wellington, and intends to continue his lectures indefinitely. He has formed a body of truth-seekers under the name of “The Church Universal,” and in connection with his work has opened tho Truth Centre at 30 Willis Street, Wellington, whore are rest and. reading rooms, open to the public free of charge.
