THE BUTTER QUESTION
CONFERENCE AS TO LOCAL MARKET. Matters of importance affecting the dairying industry of tho Dominion were diseusred yesterday at a conference of representatives of butter producers from the whole of New . Zealand. The conference wns convened for the purpose of considering the question of butter for the local market at the end of the present month, when fho Government's arrangement ns to subsidy will terminate. Tho Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. W. Nosworthy) was present nt the conference, along with the Director-General of Agriculture (Dr. C. J Rea.ke-6. and Mr. Loes, head of the Inineri.nl Supplies Department. Tlio proceedings were in committee, but it is . understood thnt c“rtain arrangements were come to, which will shortly be made the subject of an official statement.
