John H. Graham, 21 years of age. pleaded guilty in the Magistrates Court yesterday, before Air. F. K. Hunt b.M.. to the theft of two suit lengths of tweed and a piece of silk, total value *£j 9s. Bd., the property of Hodgkins, Carver and Co. At the request of Acting-Chief Detective Andrews, sentence was deterred until August 18, to permit of further inquiries being made. Mrs. Fredrick Rosenthal was the hostess at Tuesday’s concert at tho Sailors Friend Society, when tho following were encored; Mrs Rosenthal. Misses Perry. Piner. Maxwell, Arnold. Worboys Groves. Bleze, and Messrs. N. Booch. Murray. Moon, Gordon. Smith. Miss Worboys was at the piano. Mr. Moore, missioner. spoke in reflation to ternpclrance, and more names were added to the pledge book. The prises for the competitions name from Mrs. Weston and Mrs. Dnlgiesh. and wore won by tho Durham, Amokura, and Somerset. At .ilv.mcli an September 15, 1909, Paul Guignard rode 63 miles 255 yards in an hour. He was motor paced and had a wind shield.
