Vice-Regal. The Governor-General (Lord Jellicoe), who is in Christchurch. officially opened the Returned Soldiers’ Club I here yesterday morning. His Honour Mr. Justice Salmond, with his secretary, Mr. J. M. Gamble, will leave for Wanganui on .Monday. Mr. H. W. I.ever, for the past ten years manager of the Wellington branch of the Bank of New South Wales, has been appointed acting-inspector for New Zealand., He will be succeeded as manager here by Mr. A. J. Mackay, who has been employed temporarily on inspectorial duty in the Dominion. His Honour Mr. Justice Hosking, with his secretary, Mr. W. King, » at present in Mastorton. .Mr. E. J. Ilyams, of Wellington, will leave on a. trip to England and America to-morrow. Air. Walter Monk has arrived in Wellington to make preliminary arrangements for the English Pierrots’ season at the Grand Opera House. Mr. Robert Greig, producer of “Chu Chin Chow,” and Mrs. Greig went south last evening.
