NORTH ISLAND’S CLAIM PRESSED. The Victoria College Council, nt its July meeting, decided to suggest to the Government that in tho establishment of any now special schools attached to university colleges, preference should bo given to the North Island. The recommendation had special reference to the proposed school of forestry. Tho matter was mentioned again at a meeting of the council last night. Tho council decided to send a deputation to interview Ministers with regard to instruction. in agriculture and forestry in the colleges. A speaker indicated that this was “a new method of attack.”
