GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKETS prospect of~ftrming in oat VALUES. Dy Talegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, August 2. Oats remain stagnant as far ns business is concerned, but there are no weak holders, and consequently thorn is no casing in values. So few oats are coming forward that there is a belief in soma quarters that when northern over-sellers come on the market later in the month they will have difficulty in filling requirements. With the prospect of a firming up in values, farmers are content to await some such development, judging by the paucity of their oilers. Rye grasses and cocksfoot continue firm, there being n. stronger tone throughout. Considerable ■business with the North Island has been done in cocksfoot on the basis of 9Jd. for machine-dressed, equal tv 7d. or 7Jd. for farmers.
