HATAITAI ELECTORS’ ASSOCIATION
Tho monthly meeting of the Hataitai Municipal Electors' Association was held on Monday. The president (Mr. A. D. Bayfield) was in tho chair. A report was received from the delegates who attended the recent meeting of the Eastern Suburbs Citizens’ League, and their actions wcro unanimously endorsed. Instructions were also given concerning the notices of motion which are tabled for consideration at the league’s forthcoming annual meeting. Tn view of tho fact that numerous strongly-worded complaints have recently been received from householders in the district, as to the poor quality of the gas supplied, it was decided to draw tho attention of the Wellington Gas Company to this matter and solicit better service. The City Council are to bo asked to clean and regrade the zig-zag at the southern end of ITir.nu Road, giving access to the town Belt. It wan decided that if this wore done and shrubs planted, the residents in the vicinity would undertake to keep the ground in order. A request for tho installation of a light on tho corner of Rakau and Hataitai floods n»d the removal of projecting pieces of iron there is also being presented to the council for favourable consideration.
