A YOUTH’S SECOND LAPSE. A short sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held on Saturday. Mr. r• K Hunt, S.M., was on the Bench. Stanley lan Collins, 18 years of age, was charged witu failing to comply with the terms of his release on probation. The facts were stated to be that Lollins was convicted in May last cn a charge of theft of .€23 and two suit cases, and was placed on probation tor twelve months. He managed io get worn with the Medallion Art Co. canvassing for enlargements on 20 per cent, commission, and failed to account for certain sums of money. Collins was sentenced on the original charge of theft to twelve months’ reformative detention at the Borstal Institute at Invercargill. Walter D. Fisher (for whom Air. A. u. Sievwright appeared) was remanded until this .corning on a charge of stealing a bicycle, value .Cl. the property of some person unknown. Bail was allowed in one surety of .£2O. William Simpson, charged with tne theft of one 71b. tin of jam, value ss. 3d., the property of the Union Company, was remanded until Monday. Bail was allowed in one surety of AlO.
