On Saturday evening, in the Rcchabite Chambers. Ghuznee Street, Bro. Warren. D.C.T., assisted by district officers, instituted and opened the Anzac Lodge No. 25. Despite the unfavourable weather there was a good attendance of members. The charter members were duly initiate! info the Order, the service being impressibly carried out by all officers. Several members were admitted on card. The naming of the lodge 1 was then proceeded with, it being decided to name it Anzac No. 25. The election of officers resulted in the following being returned as first officers of tho lodge:—Chief Templar, Bro. Warren; Vice-Tomplnr, Sis. Mrs. Lloyd, sen.; secretary, Bro. Trevithick; chaplain, Sis. Miss Lloyd; treasurer, Uro. Carpinter; financial secretary. Bro. ,T. B. Lloyd, sen.; marshal, Sis. ; Alias Larwood guard, Bro. G. Congdon; sentinel, Bro. J. B. Lloyd, jun.; Past Chief Templar, Bro. Smith; Deputy-Marshal, Bro. F. Lloyd. Tho installation of tho above officers was impressively carried out by Sis. Airs. Bett, Grand Vice-Templar, assisted by Bro. Ingram, Installing Marshal, and Sis. Mrs. Hirst as DeputyDistuning Marshal. The institution charge (iT* ceremony were read by Sisi. Mrs. Bett, G.V.T., who declared tho - Anzac Lodge No. 25 duly instituted a lodge of the International Order of Good Templars. Several members presen't spoke welcoming the new lodge and wishing it every success. Votes of thanks were passed to the instituting officers.
