NATIVE LAND CASE

BIGHT TO BENEFIT UNDER WILL. An interesting Native land case was heard before the Full Bench of tho Supreme Court yesterday. It was a special case stated by Judge Rawson, of the Native Land Court, with reference to tho rights possessed by persons of mixed European and Maori blood, being more European than Maori, named as beneficiaries under the will of Hunia te Hana, a deceased Maori woman, in priority to the rights of persons who might otherwise benefit. There was a great deal of complication in the case, as a doubt existed whether the residue of oertain moneys received by tho deceased for the Bale of lands were realty or personalty. Mr. C. H. Treadwell appeared for hobart Ransfleld (who claimed that he should benefit), and Mr. M. Myers for tho executor of tho will. ~ r- .4. After hearing argument the Court reeerved its decision. On the bench were Their Honours Mr. Justice Sim, Mr. Justice Hosking, Mr. Justice Stringer, Mr. Justice Reed, and Mr. Justice Adams.
