RAILWAY ACCIDENT
KAIAPOI RESIDENT DIES FROM INJURIES. By Teleyrnph —Presi AsßOciaXion* Christchurch, July 11. Mr. Richard Evans, aged 78, a wellknown Kaiapoi resident, while crossing the railway line to catch a tram for Christchurch, was knocked down, part of the train passing over his legs. He was taken to a Kaiapoi nursing honm, and died about midday. He was chairman of the Waimakariri Harbour Board and a prominent member of the 1 ormers’ U nion and other bodies.
