« Vice-Regal. His Excellency the Governor-General (Admiral Viscount Jellicoe) is to hold an investiture nt Government House tomorrow evening. Those to be invested with decorations consist mainly of military officers, but there are also several civilians to be decorated. Senior-Sergeant S. Till, of the Central Police Station, has been promoted to siite inspcctor and tmnsferred to Auckland to fill a vacancy caused by the promotion of Sub-Inspector Eales io the position of inspector at Auckland. Senior-Sergeant Till came to Wellington three months ago from Hamilton. Mr Thomas Pavitt, who died at his residence, Brougham Street, on Sunday night, had for over 70 years resided in the Dominion, and during that long period he gained « 'vide circle of fiends. By all he was highly respected, and deep re"rct will be felt at his,Joss winch was brought alxmt by an attack of pneumonia. Spencer (of Auckland) and Misses Fanny amt Lucy Pavitt (of Wellington). the interment to-morTow will be private.
