LOWER HUTT AFFAIRS

A meeting of the Lower Hutt Borough Council, over which the Mayor (Mr. E. P. Rishworth) presided, was held last evening. Advice, under date June 14, was received from tho Petone Borough Council to the effect that it would probably be necessary to curtail the supply of gas during certain hours of tho day. Tho Mayor stated that the matter had J»en considered in committee, and it ras decided that the council refrain from taking action at this juncture. The Hutt Labour Representation Committee forwarded a resolution recommending that a conference be held between petono and the Lower Hutt on the gas question.—lt was resolved to hold over consideration until after Wednesday’s poll.
