AMERICA OBJECTS TO DRAFTS ON NEW YORK BANKS
DETRIMENTAL TO FOREIGN COMMERCE

It is learned authoritatively that America has made representations to the Allies’ Reparation Committee to prevent Germany paying large reparation sums by drafts on New York hanks. The reason is that Germany’s recent payments through New York played havoc with tho exchange situation to the detriment of American foreign commerce. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
PROPOSAL TO CANCEL SANCTIONS
OPPOSED BY FRENCH PREMIER. Paris, June 20.
Discussions are expected to take place at Boulogne in July, and will include a proposal to cancel the sanctions imposed in. London in March and the occupation of Dusseldorff, Duisburg, and Ruhrort, and the Customs cordon on the Rhine.
It is reported that Lord Curzon asked for the immediate suppression of the sanctions, to which M. Briand replied: "This won’t pay us yet."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
