At G. 30 o’clock last night the caretaker of the Safe Deposit Building in High Street found smoke in. the lift-well. He broke open a door, and found a motorcar ablaze. Ho was able io extinguish the fire. The incendiary, alter starting the fire, evidently pulled out the plugs from the main switch, throwing the whole building into darkness. He then locked the door and removed the key, his apparent object being simply to destroy the motor-car and disorganise the lighting and lift convenience. The police are investigating.
