KARORI PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Karori Progressive Association was held _ last evening Mr. John Burns presiding. There wore* about 4,0 members present. The election of officers resulted as fol-lows-.—President, Mr. W. T. Hildreth; vice-presidents. Councillor John Burns, Councillor B. G. H. Burn, Messrs. James MTlanzie, A. M'Kenzie, J. W. Henderson. P. Jordan, and Dr. I’lattsMills; secretary, Mr. S. Jeffrey; assist-ant-secretary, Mr. G. Gamble; executive committee, Messrs. C. R. I«-ink-shear, F. F. Laurenson, J. F. Mills, T. S. llonaldsion, W. A. Andireivs, C. M'lutosh, and W. M. Page. Tho incoming committee was urged to endeavour to secure a, gas supply\for tho district. •-A good deal of time was spent discussing the question of a shorter tram route to the city, via Kelburn. Eventually a motion was passed recommending the incoming* executive to endeavour to secure a tram or motor bus service between the Kelburn tram Karori tunnel, the support of tho Northland Ratepayers’ Association to be solicited in this movement. Three representatives of the Northland Association present indicated that the support asked for would be forthcoming.
