MANGAHAO SCHEME
THE DATE OF COMPLETION. The Minister of Public Works (Hon. J. G. Coates) has stated in a letter to the Petone Borough Council that he expects power from the Mangahao hydroelectrio installation io become available in 1923. Ho said yesterday, in commenting upon this matter, that the plans made last year had provided foi completion in three years, and he sawno reason to believe that the noik would be delayed. The tunnels Ycro proceeding at a satisfactory rate, and the other work was keeping up to the schedule. Tenders were now being called for the generating plant, «o that there might be no delay when the water was readv for delivery to the turbines.
