EVANS BAY YACHT CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. The second annual general meeting of the Evans Bay- Yacht and Motor Boat Club was held this week. There was a large attendance of members, and Mr. A. J. Ibbotson, commodore, presided. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. The chairman, in submitting the report, outlined the progress and activities of the club. He made special mention of the limbless soldiers*-- picnic, which it had been decided to make an annual outing', and, if possible, to give the limbless men more outings in the future. The balance-sheet showed the olub to be sound financially, the credit balance of, the general fund being Jill 18s., and the builaing fund ,£335 155., with assets to the value of £lO5. It was stated that the Social Committee had handed over to the trustees of the building fund the sum of £3OO, and the committee was congratulated on the splendid result achieved. It was decided, on the recommendation of the building commit, tee, to start the building of the club Bouse immediately, so in the next, few months the building would be erected and ready for the opening of the season. There had been a. splendid programme of races sailed during the year —9 yacht, 9 motor boat, and 2 centre-board races being held. The membership of the club hud increased during the year from I*o to 214. It was decided after discussion that the subscription for the ensuing year be the same as last year. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr. A. A. George (re-elected); president, Mr. J. Paterson (re-elected'; vice-presidents, Messrs. M. A. Carr, W. J. hitching, J. 8. Milner, J. J. Boyd, T. A. Bourke, Landes, Leigh Hunt. M. Yaldwyn (all reelected), R. J. Murphy, T. Ronayne, and Sfonebanks. The commodores of all sistor clubs were appointed as honorary viceprosid'ont's; commodore, Mr. A. .1. Ibbotson (ro-eleoted); vice-commodore. Mr. M. Powell; rear-commodore, Mr F. Haldfleld, sen.; secretary, Mr. H. S. Hannah (reelected); assistant secretary, Mr. C. M. Harper (re-elected); treasurer, Mr. J. C. Burbory (re-elected); racing secretary, Mr. W. F. Fielder (re-elected); handicappers —yachts, Messrs. J. Gendall and H. J. Smith: motor boats, Mr. .1. A. Lewis (ro-dected); judge, timekeeper, and starter, Mr. W. H. Wngstaffe, sen. (re-elect-ed): trustees building fund. Messrs. ■ J. A. Lewis and W. H. Wagstaffe, sen. (reelected); racing committee, Messrs. Sexton, Jennens, and Ogrten; delegates to Yacht and Motor Boat Association, Messrs. L. Ibbotson and M. Rowell; auditors. Messrs. H. J. Smith and Johnstone. Tho following were elected to tho committee: —M.essm. T. Hadfield jun.. L. Ibbotson, R. Ibbotson, W. FTirlto, JT. M'Gornish, 8. Showin; J. Tobin.’and C. V. Wag’tnffe. Votes of thanks were carried by acclamation to tho Press for the prompt publication of all reports, to the donors of trophies for racing, to the donors of trophies for limbloss soldiers' picnic, and to tho retiring officers.
