SELF-DETERMINATION FOR IRELAND
Sir—Under my door, before daylight this morning, I found what purports to lie the manifesto of New Zealand sympathisers with self-tteterminatbon for Ireland. Publicists are battling the tenets of that party continually, but make slow progress, or a progress that appears unconvincing, because a very largo section are afraid to speak their real mind. Read rightly no greatoi condemnation than the manifesto could be made against the cause. On page 3 we find “it is time the peopm of New Zealand should know to what fatal purpose thev have been misled. Back to page 2:’"We are concerting with our Allies to make not only the liberties of America secure, but the liberties-of every other people as well.” Here is the misstatement and deliberate deception the people of New Zealand must be on their guard against. Again on page 9: "Tho Eureka Stockade is used as a fence for a purpose it does not fit.” The emancipation of Australia from the position of a Crown. Colony to that of a Commonwealth had no origin in the Eureka Stockade emeute, nor any connection with that affair in any shape or form. Loyaltyffiiade Australia a Commonwealth!. Disloyalty to the British Empire makes a negligible portion of Ireland Sinn Fein. Loyalty makes New Zealand a Dominion. Disloyalty makes a negligible portion T.W.W. and Rod Fed. —-I am, etc..
