HUTT RIVER CONTROL

A meeting of the Hutt River Board, over which the chairman (Mr. W. T. Strand) presided, was held last evening, when there worn present: Messrs. J. Braseli. S. Clendon. J. Mitchell, and J. Mabcy. Tlie overseer (Mr. F. Kershaw) reported that the willow and cable work at Speedy’s had been completed, and the fences at the lower end of the stop-bank had been repaired. Mr. Brasell moved, and Mr. Mitchell seconded. that the portion of land above Moiling Bridge ebe protected. Mr. Glendon moved ns iln amendment, that the Borough Council be approached and asked to bear a proportion of tho cost of the protection of Moiling Bridge. Mr. Mabey seconded the amendment, which was carried.
