FOXING
During yesterday there was a continued demand for seats for Monday's boxing tournament.. and a full house Is anticipated. Considerable interest is being displayed in the first appearance hero of Gleeson, who comes from Australia, with a reputation of being an exceptionally clever exponent. He is- a boxer who stands off all the time, and opposed to a hard puncher, as Murray is known to be, every phase of tho art should be seen. Murray is reported Io bo In excellent trim, and his supporters are confident of his being a.blo to make :i much better showing than when he defeated M'Coy recently. Tho preliminaries should provide excellent contests, especially- that between Desmond and Mitchell. The latter comes from Otngo, where he is considered to bo an exceptionally good boxer. The box plan will remain open until Monday, and as there are still many good seats to bo obtained, intending patrons will be wise to book their seats at onre. Day sales for stalls and gallery will be on sale from this afternoon. 'Mr. Alan Maxwell will referee, while Messrs. J. J; Staples Mid P. W. Woods will judge the various contests.
