Arising out of a remit approved by Ihe recent Provincial Conference of tho Farmers’ Union at Masterton, all the local labour unions have passed resolutions profiting against the suggestion flint the Government should do away with the "preference fo unionists” clause in the Arbitration Act. Further resolutions have been canned protesting against the Government’s action in reducing wages on relief works, it being contended that the cost of living has not yet fallen.
