Members of the State Orchestra have received notice that their services will be dispensed with on August 31. If the guarantee of £lO,OOO is forthcoming in the interim the notices will be ineffective. —Press Assn.
DISBANDMENT PROBABLE. Sydney, June 1
Mr. E. Wunderlich, honorary secretary of the Conservatorium Orchestra Committee, states that the response to the guarantee fund is unsatisfactory, and probably will mean the disbanding of the orchestra. Eighteen hundred shares hare b?en applied fok. and seven thousand are necessary.—Press Assn.
