DUTCH OIL CONCESSIONS
AMERICAN NOTE OF PROTEST.
(Rec. June I, 5.5 p.m.) Washington, .May 31. T?fe State Department has announced that a note has been dispatched to Holland regarding the granting of oil concessions in Sumatra. The last Dutch Note contended that American interests did not apply to get into the Djainb l field before the negotiations with, the Batavia Oil Company, in which British capital interests had proceeded so far and could not. be overlooked. It is understood that the American Note emphatically states that the United States did make application long before the Batavia negotiations were concluded. Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
