MAGISTRATE’S COURT
POLICE PROCEEDINGS. Afr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., dealt with the police cases in tho Magistrate’s Court yesterday. A remand for a week was granted in the case of Albert Osman, who was charged with tho theft of a wallet and JlB6 in money, the property of Francis C. J. Olsen.
Frank C. Emeny (for whom Mr.’ A. B. Sievwright appeared) was remanded for a week on four charges of thefts of moneys, the property of the Official Assignee in Bankruptcy. A remand to June 8 was granted in tho case of Joseph George Kearsley, who was charged with stealing four candlesticks from the Roman Catholic Church, Boulcott Street.
Lincoln Harold Gandy appeared on remand on a charge of unlawfully carnally knowing a girl under fho age of 10 years. When he stepped into tho dock Sub-Inspector Willis said it was not "his intention to offer any evidence, and the accused was discharged. For drunkenness, William Upham was fined 205., in default three days’ imprisonment.
For using obscene language in Courtenay Place George Watts was fined 10s., with the option of 48 hours’ imprisonment.
