TO-DAY’S SENIOR MATCHES. Two senior Rugby matches will be played at Athletic Park this afternoon. At. 1.20 Marist Old Boys will meet University and at 2.45 Poneke will try conclusions with Selwyn. Players are notified that games must be commenced at the advertised time. At Petone Oriental will bo pitted against the suburban team, and a. good many town enthusiasts will probably journey to Petone to see this contest.
On June 3 (King’s Birthday) a special holiday attraction will be put on at the Athletic Park, when the two crack teams Poneke and Petone will meet.

Earl Brownlow, who died recently at Belton Park. Grant him (England), was 77. An old Grenadier Guardsman, the Earl sat. for a short time in the Hon-e of Commons. He pos-essed a magnificent collection of pieiu.'es, of which olio of the three authentic copies of Leonardo da A'inei's "Mona Lisa” is the gem. The earldom now becomes extinct, «s the late peer had no children.
