BIG EXTRA' EROM CENTRA I, COMMAND. Now that entries have finally closed for the National Rifle Association's Challenge Cup competitions it can be definitely stated that the New Zealand entries this year exceed those of last year by 90 teams, or 915 competitors. They are, in fact, a record. From the particulars appended, it will be noticed that the Central Command, in which Wellington City is situated, lias provided Very many more teams than either of tho other commands. The northern entries are surprisingly small. The figures foi the three commands are as follow, the number of teams being stated first in each case, and the number of competitors staled next, between parentheses:— Junior Competition.—Northern. 2 '181; Central. 31 128-I',; Southern. 12 (128); total. 48 (430);

Senior.— Northern. 6 (571; Central, 76 (788); Southern .57 (7291; totals, 139 (1574).

Junior and Senior Together.—Northern. 8 (75); Central. 110 (10721; Southern. 69 (857); totals. 187 (2004).

Tn 1920 there were 97 teams and 1059 competitors. The teams must fire before June. 30. The registers and targets rvill then be serif- Home Io Bisley for comparison with those of other learns in all parts of the Empire. The boys of Now Plymouth High School did very well in the competitions la=t year.
