At the Dominion Boy Scout Conference yesterday Captain Cossgrove (Christchurch) announced that he had that, morning had an interview with Mr. Gurney, general manager of the Universal Film Company, who informed him that as the result of the efforts of Mr. James Bryson (Australasian manager), who had been in cable communication with the Prince of Wales, the Universal Company had decided to give 5 per cent, of its film hire and 5 per cent, of tho revenue from the theatres in connection with the exhibition throughout New Zealand of tlie picture, "Fifty Thousand Miles with the Prince.” shortly to he shown throughout New Zealand, to the Boy Scout Fund. The only provision was that the organisation of tho Boy Scouts should be employed to sell tickets (which would be supplied) for the week or two prior to the exhibition of tho picture in any and all towns. The proposal was received with enthusiasm and every token of lively gratitude. It was decided that such funds as were realised by thta means should go to the headquarters fund. The idea chimes in harmoniously with a money-raising campaign to be inaugurated on behalf of the Boy Scout movement throughout the Dominion at once, with the view of raising a sum of <£sooo—which it in hoped the Government will subsidise .£1 for £l- - to whether the Government will give a subsidy or a grant will be determined this morning, when the Aciffng-Prinie Minister is io be waited upon by .p delegation from the conference.
