The Wesley Church Literary and Debating Society held its opening meeting last Friday night at the Taranaki Sheet Methodist Church. The large number of members present passed a most enjoyable evening. The foltowing r sponsible for the success of the eronng. Wsses Anderson and Maxwell, Mis Strong, Messrs. ’Armstrong, Cross, and Strong, who contributed songs; Miss Grono Miss Dix, and Mr. Grono. who gave recitations; and Miss Helyer, w o played a pianoforte solo.
