OVER-POPULATED BRITAIN
NECESSITY OF EMIGRATION. (Roc. May 26, 0.10 a.m.) London, May 25. The "Morning Post,” discussing the Imperial Cabinet, hopes that Mr. Churchill (Secretary of State for the Colonies) will tackle migration within tho Empire upon the proved fact that Britain is heavily over-populated. "If England is ever again to .prosper, and the perpetual burden of anxiety in making a livelihood removed from the working and middle classes, emigration is necessary. We are looking to the Dominions for help, but no man should be invited to emigrate unless a job awaits him. The scheme ought •te be based on. a great scale, in order that millions, not hundreds, may obtain a new start. There must be a strict selection of men and women fitted for life on the land, for the Dominions are suffering like us from overcrowded towns.”—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
