MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.

The Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union met last evening. There were present: The chairman (Mr. J. Prendeville)), and Messrs. J. 11. Milliard, H. Buck, F. A. Laws, H. M’Leod, E. Perry, W. W. Cook, W. Hardham, and A. J. Griffiths. C. White was granted a transfer from Marist seniors to St. Patrick’s College third grade team, he having been reenrolled as a scholar of the college. The following players werj reported injured:—W. Power (Berhampore juniors). R. S. Phillips (Selwyn fourths), H. Bullard (Selwyn juniors), G. Saunders (Marist thirds). H. Benge (Upper Hutt), H. Pole (Petono seniors). R. Ryan (Petone sixths), G. Clark (Petone sixths), 11. Desmond (Selwyn seniors), J, 0. Mackie (Porirtia). Mr. S. S. Denn wrote suggesting that the union should go into the question of numbering all players taking part in senior games on the park. The official programme was, he stated, of very little use without the players being numbered so as to enable spectators to readily pick up who the various players were. He suggested that a set of 20 numbers be supplied to each club, with instructions that all senior players were to be numbered, and the official numbers supplied 'to the union. It was decided to fall in with Mr. Dean’s suggestion. Two fourth-grade players, who were reported by the referee for the use of bad language, attended and admitted their offence! One player, who was contain.of his team, was suspended for six playing Saturdays, and the ofher for three. Tt was decided to inform the club in question that in the opinion, of the committee the captain in question was not a fit player to Be .captain of a team. The Petone Club wrote questioning the interpretation of one of the new rules by the referee who had charge of a fourthclass match between Institute and Petone. Tt. was stated that during the progress of the game Institute scored a try. Tho. kick nF goal was chr.rircd by Petone players. Tt was unsuccessful, nnd the referee allowed Institute, another kick. The kick was successful. and in conseononce’ Institute won by 5 points', to 3. Holding that the referee’s decision was wrong, the Petone Club that the game be roninved, should jt he found to here any hearing on the champvmshin.—Tt was decided to forward the letter to the referee in question fra- an explanation.
