An interesting address was delivered at the Independent Hall, Upper Hutt, on Tuesday evening, by Mr. E. F. Hollands. A.M.1.E.E., of Wellington, on the application of electricity, to a representative gathering of ratepayers of Upper Hutt. Mr. Hollands’s address covered the forming of power boards, development of hydro-electricity in New Zealand, supply stations in New Zealand, relative efficiency of gas and electricity for power 'and domestic purposes. The audience gave the speaker an attentive hearing, and at the close of the address the chairman (Mr. Brwn) invited' questions. A the close of the meeting Mr. Quinn moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Hollands for' his interesting and educational address.
