In English industries for which statistics are collected, changes in rates of wages during February affected about 1.625,000 workpeople, of whom 70,000 received increases, amounting to £B7OO in their weekly wages, and over 1,550,000 suffered decreases, amounting to nearly £450.000 a week. Among those who had reductions were 1,200,000 coal miners and about 200,000 woollen aqd worsted operatives.
