THE WEATHER

FORECAST AND SUMMARY

AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY

Present indications are for high and squally south-west winds and cold, changeable weather, with heavy showers generally. Barometer rise everywhere soon.

An intense Antarctic disturbance has accounted for north-west to south-west winds strong to gale, and unsettled, squally conditions, especially in and southward of Oook Strait. Ruin has fallen in most parts, and heavy rain in the West Roast and southernmost districts of the South Island. , T). C. BATES, Director. Meteorological Office. Wellington, May 9. 1921.
