SEASON OPENS TO-MORROW. The Soccer season will open to-morrow, when a six-a-sidc tournament will be held. Record entries (105 teams) have been received, so a good afternoon’s sport should he provided for all lovers of the Mme. At Association Park, Coutts Street, Kilbirnie, the first, second, third, and fourth divisions will compete, commencing at 1.30 p.m. At Seatoun Park the fifth division will try conclusions commencing St 2 p.m.. while at Lyall Bay the sixth,, seventh, and eighth divisions will meet each other. NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL.

A meeting of the New Zealand Council was held on Wednesday night. Mr. C. E. Fordham presided, and there were present:—Messrs. T. M’Laren, C. F. Ward. F. Campbell, H. I. Graves, and B. li. Salmon. The subcommittee set up to report on the cost of the proposed New South Wales tour submitted its report, which was adopted. The estimated cost of a tour of twelve matches will be. roughly. £l4OO. It was decided, therefore, that each of the four major associations should be asked to guarantee £3OO towards the expenses, and the smaller associations each £75.

The Wellington Football Association wrote nailing that the disqualification of S. Bolton imposed in 1912 should be lifted. This was agreed to unanimously. The Wellington Football Association forwarded letters relative to the progress of the game in Hnwera, and the secretary reported what action he had taken.
