LACROSSE
A meeting of the Wellington lacrosse Association was.held last night, Mr. R Kenkin presiding. The following officers were elected: chairman, Air. M. Andrews; secretary, Mr. Al. Gander; president, Air. AV. Simm; vice-presidents, Alessr.s. R. W. Al'Villy. J. O’Leary, J. H. Rider, IV. King, N. E. Lee, E. J. Proud and S. Myer! A temporary committee was also elected. One of those present Spoke of what had been done to start lacrosse again in Wellington. last year an effort had been made, but it was found impossible to commence a competition. A number of players had, however, met frequently during the season and played "toss-up ‘ games. This year, however, it was hoped to commence, a. small competition, uhich might "lead to greater things in the future. The speaker had applied to tha City Council for a ground, and he understood that (hey would be able to get one at Day’s Bay or Lyall Bay. Tl was decided to try to obtain the Lyall Bay ground.
