HOCKEY AFFAIRS
MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the Hockey Association was held last night at the Y.M.C.A., Mr. W. Richards presiding. Advice was received that it had been found impossible, owing to several reasons. to form a hockey club at the Eastfffn Hutt school. The Rambler Club wrote protesting against Vhe allotment, of dressing sheds, and pointing out the record possessed by the club. It was decided to reply that no change in the allotment could be made,'and flhat in the allotment tho record possessed by individual clubs was not taken into account. Tho .accommodation provided at the Karon Park is, in the opinion of the committee, better than that provided in previous years. The following schools have entered teams for the Schools’ Competitions: Berhampore, Wadestown, Hataitai, Newtown, Te Aro, Lyall Bay and Karon. It iviiS decided to leave the matter or subsidising schoolboys’ travelling ex L penses to a sub-committee. The matter of providing thorn with sticks was also left to ilhe sub-committee. Tho chairman brought, up the matter of arranging a lecture on the rules by some competent authority, and ilhe general opinion appeared to be that such a lecture was badly needed The annual report of tho New Zealand Association to be presented to the annual meeting ut Christchurch on April 28, was read. The report commented on the’progress made by hoekey during the past year, and stated that the association’s financial status was sound. The report concluded by mentioning uliat the prospects for tb<> present season were very' bright, and it looked ns though hockey was going to have a record season. SATURDAY'S FIXTURES. Senior.
