THE RAILWAY DISPUTE
MR. MASSEY ARRANGES A SETTLE- « ment.
The Prime Minister (Mr. Massey) met the president and fhe general secretary of the Locomotive Engineers, Firemen, and Cleaners’ Association yesterday afternoon, and discussed with them the dispute that has arisen over the regulation relating to standing time. Tho General Manager of Railways (Mr R. IV M’Villy) was present. Mr. Massey informed a DOMINION reporter subsequently that an understanding had been reached. It appeared to him that the dispute had been due to a misunderstanding. He Thought that the difficulty had now been removed.
