HARDING’S FIRST MESSAGE TO

CONGRESS

Paris, April 7.

The "Matin’s” special correspondent at Washington states that next Tuesday President Harding will deal the last blow at the League of Nations. In bis first message, to Congress he will declare that America will never accept the Covenant, but is determined to reject it permanently. This means the League’s definite interment, and threequarters of America will become en fete when the coffin is nailed down. Not 20 per cent, of the Senators belonging to the Foreign Affairs Committee will ratify the Treaty, even with reservations.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
