NOT TO WORK TRAFFIC TO COLLIERIES. (Rec. April 8, 9.35 p.m.) London, April 8.
Despite Mr. Bromley's statement, the Locomotive. Men’i Society has decided to support tho miners to the extent of instructing branches to refuse to work traffic to and from the collieries; also to rtuVi.e to remove anybody whom they consider is blacklegging into the mining areas. The society will consider the total withdrawal of labour if the Triple Alliance strikes.--Aus.-N.Z. Cable Afsu.
[Mr. Bromley, secretary of the Locomotive Men’s Society, said he could not understand the attitude of the Triple Alliance. "If it had acted unitedly against the Government and the coal owners it could have prevented a strike," he added. "It is peculiar that such a powerful body should wait until its constituent parts are striking before considering the position.” In his opinion the alliance had lost its opportunity. Mr. Bromley pointed out that his society did not. belong to the alliance, and declared that it was taking no action.]
