The Union Company’s steamer Kauri arrived at about noon yesterday from Newcastle, and berthed later at No. 4 Queen's Wharf. The vessel enjoyed an uneventful passage across the Tasman Sea. head winds and seas being the prevailing conditions for the first two days and then fine, calm weather. She left Newcastle early on Friday morning last. The Kauri han not been here for several months and now has the following officers aboard, under Captain W. Plowman:First, Mr. E. M'Lellan; second, Mr. T. W. White: third, Mr. W. R. Scantlebury: first engineer. Mr. E. Dilner; second. Mr. J. Knewstubb: third, Mr. O. Anderson: fourth, Mr. M. Greenwood: wireless operator, Mr. H. S. Charm . The Kauri brought some 4000 tons of coal and a quantity of general cargo, including, notes timber, pipes, and iron. She will go alongside the Athentc to-day to bunker the Shaw-Savill liner. WIRELESS FROM THE OTIRA. A wireless message has been received from the S.S. and A. liner Otira. en route to Auckland from St. John, stating that she expects to arrive at the northern port at daylight on Sunday. She is due here about a week later, and will then visit Lyttelton, Port Chalmers. Melbourne, and Sydney. CANADIAN PLANTER LEAVES NEW YORK. "Messrs,. Murray. Roberts, and Company have received advice that the Canadian Planter left New York on April 1. bound for Australian and New Zealand portß. Rhe is due In New Zealand waters about June 12. MAIMOA DUE SATURDAY. The S.S. and A. liner Maimoa is due on Saturday from Napier to complete loading operations. She should sail on Wednesday or Thursday next for London. PORT CAROLINE DUE SHORTLY. The O. and D. liner Port Caroline Is due on April 22 from Barry. Wales. The vessel Is bringing a cargo of coal. BLACKBALL BOATS. The Ngahere is to, leave Lyttelton at noon to-day tor Wellington, and will sail from here on Monday evening, for Greymouth. The Ngakuta is due about Sun. day from Greymouth. The Ngatoro is to sail to-day for New Plymouth, from which port she will go to Greymouth. 'YSAREL COMMENCES DISCHARGE. After lying in the stream for some time the Scales’ barquentine Ysabel berthed yesterday and discharged 560 cases of oil. She will sail to-day for New Plymouth, where she is to put out the balance. She will then go to Auckland prior to sailing for the islands, where she is to load copra for Auckland. PALOONA FOR MELBOURNE. A further wireless message received from tho Shropshire states that the vessel will arrive here at noon to-morrow., She should berth about 5 o’clock, and it is hopeil to dispatch her on Sunday evening for Adelaide. TOFUA FOR THE ISLANDS. The Union Company announce that the Tofua on her trip to Fiii. Tonga, and Samoa will leave Auckland on Anril 30. The Navua will leave tl» same port on April 29, taking over the Talune's Eeastcrn Pacific run. The Navua will only take cargo. KENT AND PIAKO DELAYED. The Federal Line advise that both the Kent and the Piako have been further delayed in Auckland owing to rain. Iho Kent is now expected here on Sunday, while the Piako should be here early next week. PORT DARWIN TO LOAD BUTTER. The Port Darwin is expected to arrive at Auckland from London, via, ports about April 22. After discharging 1200 tons of cargo for this port she will load 30,000 boxes of butter there for London. THE WAIMARINO. The Waimarino, which left San Franciscq last Friday for Auckland via Apia, is expected to arrive about April to. Mie is bringing cargo from Ocean Falls. Vancouver. and San Francisco, and after discharge of the Auckland portion, she proceeds to Melbourne and Sydney. PORT MELBOURNE’S CARGO. The Port Melbourne took away from New Zealand for London the following carg0 —46,958 carcaßßes mutton. 108.823 carcasses lamb. 751 quarters beef. 106 crates frozen sundries, 44 bags beef. 11.444 boxes, butter. 6901 crates cheese, 11.427 bales wool. 270 bales hemp, 2141 casks tallow. 586 casks pelts. 103 casks caselu, 140 bags slippings 9162 cases glaxo, 20 packages., sundries, also 6435 bags of wheat from Sydney. WESTRALIA LEAVES MELBOURNE. The Huddart-Parker steamer Westralia left Melbourne at 4 s,m. o:i Wednesday for Wellington, where she is due on Monday afternoon. She has 120 passengers for New Zealand and 220 tons of cargo for Wellington. On the return trip to Melbourne the vessel will sail on Tuesday, via southern port;. ATHENIC AND RARANGA. Both the Athenic and the Raranga arrived in port yesterday to complete loading. the Athenic from Auckland and the Raranga from Lyttelton. The Athenic is to sail* for London on Thursday next and the Raranga will get away on Tuesday. OTARAMA DUE SUNDAY. The Otarama is due from Pieton on Sunday. She left Timaru yesterday for the Marlborough port. The Otarama will Bail for Liverpool and Msnchester about Wednesday or Thursday. The Koranni will not get away tor Dunedin before Saturday. The Ulosamond. due to-morrow from Greymouth, will probably return to the West. Coast after discharge. , The John is to sail for Wanganui today, and will go on to On mart! and Lyttelton, loading back to Wanganui. Tho Calm is due on Sunday from Lyttelton to load for Lyttelton and Dunedin. She should sail on Tuesday.
