SINN FEIN ATTACKS ON POLICE MILITARY LORRY AMBUSHED . IN DUBLIN (By Telegraph-Press Association-Oopyright London, April 6. There were simultaneous Sinn Fein attacks on the police all over Mid-Tyrone last night, and eight constables were taken to hospitals seriously injured — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. (Reo. FARMER-ASSASSINATED FOR SECEDING FROM SINN FEIN MOVEMENT. ' (Reo. April 7, 7.55 p.m.) London, April 7. An inquest into the murder of Thomas Shannon, a farmer of Kilrash (Clare), disclosed that his assassination was the outcome of Shannon’s secession from the Sinn Fein movement. Shannon acted as a magistrate of the Sinn Fein court, but criticise dthe court’s methods, and withdrew his active participation in the movement. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. LORRIES AND FLOUR DESTROYED. (Rec. April 7, 7.55 p.m.) London, April 7. Armed Republicans forced soldiers to drive two military lorries transporting flour from barges to a selected spot. The flour was emptied into a canal and the lorries set on fire and destroyed. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ARCHBISHOP MANNIX’S VISIT TO ROME London, April fi. The "Morning Post’s” correspondent at Rome says that Archbishop Mannix’s visit had no political importance. His silence during his stay had been noticed, and was attributed to a plain, hint which he received from a most august quarter to keep quiet while in Rome. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
