The Country Party has elected Dr. Earle Page as leader, vice Mr. M’Williams, and Mr. Gregory, deputy leader. It also decided not to support the motion of Mr. Fowler, who proposes to formally move his motion of no confidence in the Government, hut allow it to lapse.—Press Asen.

Mr. Mohony gave notice of his intention to move the adjournment to discuss the Cockatoo Island question and the recent dismissal of workmen. Mr. Hughes stated that it was not the intention of the Government to introduce nny newt legislation this session, but to confine consideration to the tariff. He would give the House an opportunity on Thursday to discuss the Imperial Conference.—4 Press Assn.
