' FATALITY NEAR HAWERA.

A drowning accident occurred in the Knpuni River. A boy named Edward Lovell, fifteen years of age, was trying to. catch a goat in a paddock adjoining the river, when he fell into the water. Another boy who was with him ran for help. A man named Evans was quickly on the spot, dived in, and got the body at the first attempt after it had been fifteen minutes in the water, but the hoy failed to rally. The father, who is living in Auckland, lost another son in the same river eighteen months ago.
