CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING
An endeavour is being made to restart the old Wellington Harrier Club, and an advertisement in another column invites all those interested to meet at the Y M C.A rooms on Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock. This old club has done much in years gone by to foster clean sport both ns regards long-distance and sprint events. The war brought its activity to a standstill, 26 of its active members having done to the front, and seven of these have made the supreme sacrifice. Their names are: Major lleming Ros, W. Bennett, J. D. Bennett, C. M Arthur. L. Culverwell, IV. B. and C D. Thomson. It is hoped that tl.e teams and 5-mile cross-country championships of this old club will be restarted during the coming season.
