P. HAYMAN & CO.’S PICNIC

The employees /of Messrs, H. Hayman and Co. held'their annual picnic at Maidstone Park, Upper Hutt, on Thursday. There were about 100 adults.and children present, and all thoroughly enjoyed the outing. Splendid weather conditions prevailed. In the morning the children's races were held, and these caused much amusement, and all the children went home pleased with their presents. The following committee carried out the picnic''arrangements:—Messrs. Crane, Fitzgerald, Orr, Roberts, Shillson, Cording, and Mies Wood. The list of prizewinners is as under (the trophies “•T 11 " donated by Messrs. P. Hayman and Co., Mr. Harold Hayman, Mr. J. H. Young, Mr. W. Crane, and Mr. L. P. Hayman):— 100 yards Hayman's handicap: H. Koxburgh, 1; T. Woods, 2. 100 yards handicap: Jansen, 1; J. Keßy, 50 yards girls’ handicap; Miss Fieb. g, 1, Miss Wishart, 2. 50 yards married ladies’ race: Mrs. Cording, 1; Mrs. Staff, 2. 50 yards three-legged race: J. R-® 11 ? and Miss Cording, 1; Orr and Miss Wallis 2 50 vards tlirend-the-needle: 11. Roxburgh and Miss Wallis, 1. 100 yards single men’s race: J. Cording, 1, G. Orr, 2. 50 yards girls’, race (open): Miss Cording, 1; Miss Bailey, 2. 50 yards elopement race: H. Young and Miss Wishart 1. 75 yards men’s handicap: V Hankins, 1; P. Percival 2. Committee men’s race: B. Shillson, 11 G. Ori, -. Ladies’ nail-driving competition: Miss G. Wood. 1; Mrs. Bum, 2. Putting (ladies): Mrs. Roberts. Putting (men): V. Hankins.
