TENTATIVE AGREEMENT REACHED.

The International Communications Conference has reached a tentative agreement whereby the United States mil ieceiva the Pacific cable from Guam to Yap, and the Atlantic cable from Brest to New York, Japan obtaining the exGermiui cables from Yap to Shanghai and Yap to the Dutch East Indies. Japan insists upon operating the lap end of the Guam-Yap cable until laps status is disposed of. It is understood that an official announcement awaits 1-rances as. sent.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
